Every inspection starts with a full visual check of the property. Our inspector will use a moisture meter and/or thermal imaging camera to find problematic areas that may be a source of indoor mold growth. We’ll leave no area of your home or business unchecked when trying to find these problems. We’ll even evaluate the attic if we see signs of staining or growth on ceilings indicating the roof could be leaking. After that we’ll present the client a plan for sampling.
Each customer will receive an inside vs. outside air comparison. This will determine if elevated conditions exist or not. Additional samples may be helpful to help confirm a source of a problem and/or determine exactly how far these problems have spread. These supplementary samples are available at an extra cost and the inspector will explain why they might be beneficial. It is up to you to decide what you want collected and analyzed based on what is needed in your situation.
Every customer will receive detailed lab results of all the tests that were taken. If the inspection indicates a problem is present that requires mold removal, you will also receive a detailed report indicating exactly what steps should be carried out by a professional restoration company.

Toxic Black Mold
Not all mold is problematic; in fact, there are normal levels of mold in every indoor environment. What we do is mold test Chicago to find out exactly what species of mold are present in the air and how much of it is present.
When it comes to black mold, or stachybotrys it is vital that surface samples are taken. This specific species of mold is not easily airborne, so it is vital that any visible growth is sampled to identify exactly what it is. This is especially true when it comes to Stachybotrys. Even though it gets labled as “black mold”, it cannot be identified by color alone as other species can appear black as well.
The most severe health issues from mold are associated with this species. No level of this mold in an indoor environment is considered acceptable and any test that comes back with stachybotrys is considered failed.
